SolutionHow to restore and protect a façade clad with single-coat mortars
System description
Single-coat mortars applied on façades are exposed to external agents (rainfall, low temperatures, frost, fungus, humidity, saltpetre, pollution, etc.) that have a negative influence on their aesthetic durability.

Rainfall, low temperatures, frost, produce efflorescence.

Material subjected to continuous exposure to high ambient humidity leads to fungal growth.

The natural ageing of the façade causes the degradation of the single-layer mortars.
To restore the decorative appearance and at the same time protect the façade we use REVAT FILM SLX

Solution
PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Verify the condition of the support by checking its strength.

Wash with pressurised water to remove all remains of the mortar surface (fungus, dust, paint residues, etc…).

On very absorbent and/or easily degradable substrates it is essential to apply a primer coat with PROPAM® DUR.
APPLICATION

Use REVAT® FILM, acrylic mortar to restore the aesthetic qualities of the single layer mortar and improve the protection of the façade.

In those areas where the material may be exposed to very extreme conditions (frequent rainfall, proximity to the sea, etc…) it will be necessary to apply a layer of REVAT® PROTEC ORG as an additional protection measure for the façade.
Recommendations
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or strong wind.
- Do not apply when there is a risk of rain or frost.
- Apply between +5ºC and 35ºC temperature.
- Do not apply to areas submerged in water.
- Protect the lower parts of buildings with skirting boards.
- During application protect exposed areas from rain.
- If the monocoat has cracks, it can be treated with FLEXIBLE SYSTEM: PROPAM RENOVATION ANTI-CRACKING.
- In new single-layer building work and areas where the material may be exposed to extreme conditions (frequent rainfall, proximity to the sea, etc.) it will be necessary to apply a coat of REVAT® PROTEC ORG as an additional protection measure for the façade and to prevent premature ageing.
