Introduction

The refurbishment of flooring in high-traffic residential settings requires technical solutions that combine mechanical strength, durability and ease of maintenance without compromising aesthetics.

The existing floor at the Poblenou student residence showed signs of wear caused by intensive daily use. A solution was therefore required to extend its service life and improve its functional performance, while avoiding demolition and reducing installation time. A multilayer polyurethane system from Molins was selected for the project.

Project description

The works involved refurbishing approximately 1,000 m² of flooring in high-traffic communal areas using a continuous, high-performance system.

The system transforms a deteriorated floor into a renewed, continuous and functional surface suited to the current requirements of the residence.

System build-up

• Localised repairs and levelling of the existing substrate
• Sealing of joints to ensure surface continuity
• Application of the PROPAM® FLOOR 250 aliphatic polyurethane coating
• Application of the PROPAM® FLOOR 250 W BM water-based, matt aliphatic polyurethane varnish

Applied solution

A multilayer polyurethane system from Molins was installed, combining high-performance coatings with a protective finish.

The PROPAM® FLOOR 250 aliphatic polyurethane coating provides high resistance to wear, UV stability and chemical resistance, while the PROPAM® FLOOR 250 W BM varnish provides a uniform matt finish.
