Aula Escola Europea is a historic educational center in Barcelona, founded in 1968. Its facilities and buildings have been renovated over time to provide learning in an environment integrated with nature.

Description of the proyect:

Rehabilitation of 200 square meters covering the canteen and kitchen areas in a school located in Barcelona. The project was carried out by Revestecnic, a company with extensive experience and expertise in resin flooring.

Reason for the intervention

Rehabilitation of two distinct areas based on the nature of the substrate:

• Canteen area substrate made up of old resin flooring

• Kitchen area substrate made up of old ceramic tiles

Project Challenges

• Adapting specific treatments for each of the two areas: diamond grinding, sanding, and vacuuming in both areas, along with a leveling coat with resin and subsequent quartz aggregate sprinkling in the kitchen area.

• Execution of coving with thixotropic epoxy resin.

• Selection of a protective and coating product with high resistance to aggressive cleaning products, low slip resistance, and ensuring maximum durability for the installation.

• Surface preparation and application of PROPAM® FLOOR 120 epoxy primer.

• Sprinkling with colored quartz aggregate.

• Sealing the colored quartz multilayer system with PROPAM® FLOOR 120
