ETICS in Sant Pere de Ribes

External thermal insulation (ETICS) has established itself as an efficient and sustainable construction solution to improve the energy performance of buildings. In the development of 9 single-family homes, this system was implemented with the aim of maximizing interior thermal comfort, reducing energy consumption and complying with current standards in sustainability and energy efficiency.

Description of the work

1,800 m² of PROPAM® AISTERM CONFORT exterior thermal insulation system with 60 mm EPS insulating panel and acrylic mortar finish. The project corresponds to a new development of 9 homes in Sant Pere de Ribes, province of Barcelona.

Reason for the intervention

The reason for the intervention was to include in the project for a new housing development a system that would optimize thermal comfort, maintaining more stable temperatures and reducing the risk of pathologies derived from condensation and humidity.

Challenges and Limitations

The diversity of exterior support and architectural design specifications presented challenges in the planning and installation of the system. To ensure optimal adhesion and durability of the insulation, specific high-adhesion mortars were used, together with mechanical anchors adapted to the characteristics of the support. Likewise, customized solutions were designed for corners and singular points, preserving thermal continuity and minimizing thermal bridges.

With a high-quality decorative finish, the facades of these homes not only meet the technical requirements, but also offer an attractive aesthetic design, achieving a perfect balance between functionality and design.

• Fastening elements used: PROPAM® AISTERM FIXING PLUGS SUPPORTS A, B, C.
• Reinforced with PROPAM® AISTERM FIBERGLASS MESH 160, using PROPAM® AISTERM White hydraulic mortar.
• Installed insulating panel: PROPAM® AISTERM EPS 60 PLATE.
• Acrylic primer applied: PROPAM® COAT FILM White.
• Finishing product: PROPAM® COAT TOP 1.2 White.
