ETICS in Sant Joan Despí

In a context of growing concern about climate change and rising energy costs, thermal insulation is presented as a fundamental solution to reduce energy consumption, minimize carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of buildings

Description of the work:

4000m2 of PROPAM®AISTERM CONFORT exterior thermal insulation system with 60mm EPS insulating panel, acrylic mortar finish.

Project carried out by the company LORSTUC

Reason for the intervention

The reason for the intervention is to add to the new construction project a system that optimises the thermal comfort of the homes by maintaining more stable temperatures, and contributes to increasing the value of the properties while reducing the risk of pathologies derived from condensation and humidity. In this sense, homeowners’ associations benefit from lower heating and cooling costs and promote a healthier and more sustainable environment.

Challenges and limitations

  • The aggregate size of the final finish requires thicknesses of 1.2mm. This finish may be less homogeneous, which could generate visible irregularities, such as differences in texture or stains if a correct planimetry of the base support is not ensured and if an acrylic primer consistent with the final coat tone is not applied.
