Lime plaster applications

System description

The use of fine mortars based on aerial lime, selected aggregates, synthetic resins and different additives, makes it possible to obtain highly decorative finishes, both in interiors and exteriors, which imitate traditional coatings made with lime stucco.

UseREVAT® CAL ESTUCOto obtain a fine lime stucco with a trowelled finish. UseREVAT® CAL FINOto obtain a fine lime stucco with a matt or glossy finish.

Solution

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

To obtain a regular, consistent and waterproof surface, previously plaster the substrate withREVAT® CAL ENFOSCADO. This product can be applied manually with a trowel or with a spraying machine.

APPLICATION AND FINISHING REVAT® LIME STUCCO

KneadREVAT® CAL ESTUCOmanually or mechanically with the indicated amount of water to form a lump-free paste that is smooth to the touch. Respect the mixing water to avoid changes in colour.

Spread the paste with a trowel on the hardened and curedREVAT® CAL ENFOSCADO substrate, achieving a thickness between 2 and 4 mm. Work joints or cut-outs can be delimited with masking tape.

The final finish is achieved by gently trowelling the surface with a fine sponge trowel.

SURFACE PREPARATION FOR REVAT® FINE LIME FINISHING

Apply a layer of about 3 mm thick of REVAT®CALESTUCO on the hardened and curedREVAT® CAL ENFOSCADOsupport, trowel and allow to dry.

APPLICATION AND FINISHING REVAT® FINE LIME

Mix REVAT® CAL FINO with the required amount of water until a smooth, lump-free, unctuous paste is obtained.

Spread a layer of about 1 mm of REVAT® CAL FINO on the dry surface of REVAT® CAL ESTUCO, smoothing it with a stainless steel trowel.

• Matt finish: a single pass with the trowel without overcoating.
• Glossy finish: smooth and polish with a trowel until the gloss appears.

Recommendations

• On walls where high thicknesses (more than 2 cm) are required, apply REVAT® CAL FONDOprior to the application ofREVAT® CAL ENFOSCADO.
• Use fibreglass mesh with REVAT® CAL CAL ENFOSCADO at weak points such as corners of doors and windows.
• Do not apply in direct sunlight or strong wind.
• Do not apply when there is a risk of rain or frost.
• Apply between +5ºC and 35ºC temperature.
• Do not apply to areas submerged in water.
• Protect the lower parts of buildings with skirting boards or use PROPAM® CAL SEC.
• During application protect exposed areas from rain.
• In outdoor applications it is advisable to protect withREVAT® PROTEC ORG.
• For traditional or scraped finishes use REVAT® TRADITIONAL LIME.
