JAÉN RED CROSS AWARDS 16 COMPANIES

Cruz Roja Jaén awards 16 companies for being a bridge to job placement. Macrosad, Clece, Grupo DIA, Valeo, Sesé Integra and the Official College of Nursing of Jaén were some of the winners.

There is no more suitable anniversary than Kindness Day – which was celebrated yesterday – to give thanks. Coincident or not, the Red Cross chose precisely November 13 to recognize 16 companies and entities that have collaborated with its job placement programs, through which it helps disadvantaged or vulnerable people find a job.

The Provincial Fairs and Congress Center (Ifeja) hosted this already traditional event, attended by the Government’s subdelegate, Catalina Madueño; the delegate of the Board, Ana Cobo; the president of the Provincial Council, Francisco Reyes, and the mayor of Jaén, Javier Márquez, as well as the provincial president of the entity, José Boyano.

The latter highlighted that”very good numbers” are being achieved with these programs, which have the involvement of some 250 companies: “In In the last three years, around 2,200 have gone through our training activities, 60% of whom have found employment, something essential because it is very difficult to achieve social integration without employment and we are achieving it,” he indicated.

For this reason, he thanked them for their collaboration, because they are «positions of work in important companies in the province that make it possible for this year, for example, to find a job about 700 people, 56% women, a very important fact. Boyano, who expressed his satisfaction, clarified that”there is still a long way to go because these people deserve it.”

The award-winning firms this year were Molins Andújar, Macrosad, Clece, Domus VI Condes de Corbull, Grupo DIA, Valeo, Initiatives Carolinenses, Sesé Integra, Association of Producers of Pistacho, Proinsur, Kit Online, GP5, Jaén Business Federation of Commerce and Services, the Official Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Linares, Taghleef Industries and the Official College of Nursing of Jaén.

Until October 2018, the Jaén Red Cross has assisted 1,856 people, 59% women. The majority – 64% – were unemployed. In addition, 42% were under 30 years old, which demonstrates the organization’s commitment to youth. The delegate of the Andalusian Government, Ana Cobo, highlighted in her speech the work carried out by the organization in the province”in its quest to achieve a more just society, fighting against poverty and exclusion”,”making the difficult easy and facing challenges such as finding employment.”

“When the Red Cross calls us, we all go,” he emphasized, for his part, the president of the Provincial Council, who stressed that they are”aware of what it entails, of the work it does, a clear example of solidarity, commitment and altruism not only of those who form the board of directors and those who work in this NGO, but also of that important number of volunteers who are doing such good work.

A job that they not only carry out in tasks in which the Red Cross has always been at the forefront, such as aid or emergencies, but also helping the people who are having the worst time now,” among which they cited young people with low qualifications, women with problems or those over 45 when looking for a job.
