We’ve inaugurated our first manufacturing plant in the United States under the Escofet brand

  • Our new facility in Elk City strengthens our growth and international expansion strategy.
  • Local production will bring our manufacturing capabilities closer to customers, shorten delivery times and help us respond faster to the needs of the North American market.

We’ve launched a new manufacturing plant in Elk City, Oklahoma, marking our first production facility in the United States and another milestone in our growth and international expansion strategy. The plant will initially serve our urban landscape solutions business under the Escofet brand, which until now has primarily supplied the North American market through exports from Europe.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mayor Micah Kilhoffer, Representative Nick Archer and City Manager Tom Ivester, alongside representatives from the local institutional and business communities. With the opening of the Elk City facility, we’re expanding our international manufacturing capabilities in urban landscape solutions and advancing our strategy of bringing production closer to the markets where we operate.

Local manufacturing of selected Escofet products will help us shorten delivery times and optimize logistics, while enabling us to respond more quickly to the specific needs of projects in the United States and Canada. This local presence will enhance our competitiveness and allow us to provide a service better tailored to the North American market.

North America currently accounts for approximately 6% of our urban landscape solutions business revenue. With the new plant now operational and our business in the region set to develop progressively, we aim to significantly strengthen our presence in the market, with the goal of increasing its contribution to up to 30% of our urban landscape solutions business revenue.

According to Marcos Cela, CEO of Molins, “The opening of our first manufacturing plant in the United States reflects our commitment to international growth, expanding our presence to 19 countries. With this new facility, we’re bringing our manufacturing capabilities closer to our customers, strengthening our competitiveness and continuing to grow our business internationally.”

“The opening of this new production facility is an important milestone for Elk City and an international win for our community. It reflects the strength of our local workforce, creates new opportunities for our community and positions our city to support Molins as they grow across the United States,” says Micah Kilhoffer, Mayor of Elk City. “Molins’ decision to locate in Elk City is a major international win for western Oklahoma and a strong vote of confidence in the people who live and work here. This facility will create opportunities close to home, strengthen the region’s manufacturing base, and connect local workers and suppliers to a growing global company. It is exactly the kind of investment that helps rural communities build lasting prosperity while showing the world what Elk City and Oklahoma have to offer.”

Local production to drive growth

The facility includes approximately 32,300 square feet of built space on a nearly 6-acre site and will initially manufacture eight of Escofet’s most in-demand products in the United States and Canada. We’ll gradually expand production capacity and the product range in line with market demand and the development of our business in North America.

The plant also builds on the industrial expertise we’ve developed through our urban landscape solutions business, Escofet, over its 140-year history. This expertise has been adapted to the raw materials and suppliers available in the North American market while maintaining the brand’s standards of design, quality and durability.

The facility’s launch is supported by an initial team trained at our plant in Martorell (Barcelona), where its members worked alongside our technical and production teams to gain in-depth knowledge of our manufacturing processes and quality standards. As operations in Elk City grow, we expect the plant’s workforce to reach up to 50 employees, further strengthening our presence in North America and our ability to grow in the market.
