We release our 2025 Sustainability Report highlighting progress in decarbonisation, circular economy, resource management and social impact
We have published our 2025 Sustainability Report, where we outline our main environmental, social and governance (ESG) achievements, as well as the progress of our Sustainability Roadmap 2030. The document presents our performance in line with the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), strengthening transparency in how we communicate our sustainability information.
The report details our progress in areas such as decarbonization, circular economy, efficient management of natural resources, biodiversity and social impact — all key elements in the integration of sustainability into our business model.
“At Molins, we understand sustainability as a strategic pillar that guides the evolution of our business. This report reflects the work carried out across different areas of the company to move towards an increasingly efficient and responsible industrial model,” says Carlos Martínez, Director of Corporate Development and Sustainability at Molins.
Climate strategy
The report outlines the progress made in our climate strategy and the update of our Transition Plan. After reviewing our Roadmap 2030, we have strengthened our emissions reduction targets and defined new actions to accelerate the decarbonization of our operations.
In this context, we have already achieved significant progress in our climate performance, reducing our net CO₂ emissions to 9 kg of CO₂ per tonne of cementitious material — an important step towards our goal of bringing them below 460 kg by 2030.
This strategic update is accompanied by an investment programme of more than €65 million over the coming years, aimed at driving key projects to reduce the carbon footprint of our production processes and advance towards a more efficient and sustainable industrial model.
Energy and efficiency in production processes
We continue to make progress in incorporating more sustainable energy solutions into our production processes. We have reached an energy substitution rate of 25% through the use of alternative fuels in our kilns, supporting the gradual reduction of fossil fuel consumption.
At the same time, we continue to increase the use of renewable electricity, which currently represents 44% of our global electricity consumption and reaches 100% in Spain. We are also working to reduce the clinker content in our cements through the development of new materials and construction solutions with a lower environmental footprint.
Circular economy and sustainable solutions
Circular economy remains one of the pillars of our sustainability strategy. In Spain, 30% of sales already correspond to the Susterra solutions range, developed to reduce the environmental impact of construction materials by lowering emissions, incorporating recycled materials and improving resource efficiency.
These solutions are part of our commitment to promoting materials and construction systems with a lower environmental impact.
Responsible resource management and biodiversity
The report also highlights progress in the management of natural resources. During the last financial year, we increased the use of recycled water in our operations by 28%, promoting initiatives for water recirculation and more efficient use of water resources.
At the same time, we continue to implement actions to protect and restore the natural environments linked to our activity. Currently, 100% of our quarries have restoration plans, and more than half of the plants located in environmentally sensitive areas have specific biodiversity plans in place.
Social impact
The 2025 Sustainability Report also highlights our progress in the social sphere, with initiatives aimed at promoting professional development, diversity and engagement with the communities where we operate.
Currently, 22% of management positions are held by women, while more than 73,000 hours of training were delivered to our workforce during the last year. In addition, 41% of our operations have formal community engagement plans, strengthening dialogue and collaboration with local stakeholders.
With the publication of this report, we continue to move forward in integrating sustainability into our business model and in providing transparent accountability for our environmental, social and governance performance.
