We complete the acquisition of Secil, strengthening our global positioning
This transaction marks a step-change in our scale, positioning us among the largest mid-size players in the global building materials and solutions sector.
We have completed the acquisition of 100% of Secil Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, S.A. from the Portuguese industrial group Semapa – Sociedade de Investimento e Gestão, SGPS, S.A., following the satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
Secil is a leading provider of building materials and construction solutions, with a strong industrial footprint and established positions in its core markets, generating revenues of €751 million and EBITDA of €195 million in 2025.
With this acquisition, we expand our presence in Portugal and enter Brazil, strengthening our footprint in Latin America. This transaction represents a step-change in our scale, bringing us to a new dimension within the sector. It also supports a more diversified geographic footprint and reduces our exposure to currency volatility.
The addition of Secil strengthens our industrial platform and expands our presence across key businesses, including cement, concrete & aggregates, construction solutions, precast solutions and circular economy, further diversifying our business profile and market presence.
We share with Secil a strong commitment to sustainability. Secil is part of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), while we have recently joined the initiative as part of our decarbonization roadmap.
“We believe that completing this transaction represents an important milestone in our growth strategy. The addition of Secil supports our transformation and helps us build a more efficient organization, while expanding our international footprint and industrial scale. It also enables us to continue developing innovative and sustainable solutions for our customers and strengthens our ability to compete globally. We would also like to warmly welcome Secil’s employees to Molins”, says Marcos Cela, CEO
