A Firm Step Toward More Sustainable Construction with Susterra
The construction industry is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the need to adopt more sustainable practices and reduce its environmental footprint. In this context, we launched Susterra this year, an innovative range of solutions with sustainable attributes that foster the sector’s decarbonization and promote the circular economy.
Susterra solutions reflect our commitment to sustainable development, adding value at every stage of the construction process. From cement, concrete, and mortars with a lower carbon footprint to urban furniture incorporating recycled aggregates, this new range stands out for employing material and energy recovery, optimizing the use of natural resources, reducing environmental impact, and contributing to a healthier environment.
Susterra drives products that improve the sustainability of any building. “We want Susterra products not only to meet regulations but to become a standard in the construction industry,” highlights Carlos Martínez, our Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer.

Contributing to Iconic Projects and Urban Environments
The Susterra range is already present in large-scale projects, such as the construction of the new Spotify Camp Nou, where we supplied over 160,000 m³ of concrete with recycled aggregates and a lower carbon footprint, significantly reducing the environmental impact. Additionally, we are promoting the stadium’s circular economy: up to 100,000 tons of materials from the old stadium have been recovered and reused in the construction of the new venue. This approach demonstrates how innovation in materials can be a driving force for change, helping even the most iconic infrastructure adopt more environmentally responsible practices.
Susterra’s commitment also extends to the urban landscape. A standout example is Escofet’s Eco-Grey collection, which uses up to 33% recycled aggregates to create urban furniture, such as benches, that combine functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. With this line, cities can design spaces that foster social interaction while respecting the environment.
