Circularity at Spotify Camp Nou wins Silver distinction

Our collaboration in the new Spotify Camp Nou project has been recognised with the silver distinction. This award recognises our work as the most significant with recycled aggregates at the 2nd International Congress on the Recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW).

At this event, our Environment Director, Pilar López, presented how we have contributed to making the construction of the new Spotify Camp Nou a benchmark in circular economy and sustainability.

To achieve this, we have reused more than 100,000 tonnes of recycled aggregates on site thanks to our mobile CDW recycling plant, which allowed the manufacture of in-situ concrete. This recovery process not only made possible a 0 km supply, but also considerably reduced the carbon footprint. In addition, we used Susterra cement, achieving a 25% decrease in CO₂ emissions.

Our approach has allowed the new stadium to be a clear example of innovation and environmental respect, reusing materials and optimising resources in a sustainable way.

We received this award in the Silver category in recognition of our circular work in the construction of the new stadium, a distinction awarded by the Organising and Scientific Committee of the 2nd International RCD Congress, held at the Zaragoza Trade Fair.

The keys to the project:

  • More than 100,000 tonnes of recycled aggregates from the demolition of the old stadium, treated using a mobile CDW plant that converts waste into high quality raw materials.
  • Exclusive use of Susterra cement, known for its low carbon footprint.
  • Proximity logistics with the supply of raw materials and on-site concrete manufacture.
