Aripaq for pathways and pedestrian areas at Parc de les Glòries

Parc de les Glòries, in Barcelona, is an urban transformation project that includes extensive green areas and new pedestrian routes, where we have installed 5,573 m² of Aripaq Susterra in pathways and pedestrian areas.

Project requirements

Landscape integration

Natural-finish pavement made of compacted decomposed granite and free-draining aggregate, allowing for seamless integration into the park’s urban environment.

Sustainability and environmental criteria

The solution incorporates recycled glass calcine, contributing to improved pavement durability and reduced maintenance needs. It also prevents the growth of spontaneous vegetation and erosion processes caused by rainwater.

Urban-use resistance

The pavement allows the circulation of light maintenance machinery without deterioration of the surface finish, ensuring suitable performance in urban environments.

The transformation of Glòries, managed by BIMSA, has been awarded the Barcelona City Award 2025 as a benchmark project in sustainable urban planning.
