Susterra concretes incorporate DRAGON BM-QL cement to reduce their carbon footprint
Molins continues to advance the sustainability of its concrete solutions by incorporating DRAGON BM-QL cement (CEM II/BM (Q-L) 42.5R) into the mix designs of Susterra concretes, reinforcing its commitment to lower-impact alternatives without compromising quality or the technical performance required on site.
This cement incorporates calcined clay (Q) as an active addition, enabling optimal levels of mechanical strength and durability to be maintained while reducing the carbon footprint by more than 30% compared to the reference CEM I 52.5R cement from 2020. This improvement represents a significant reduction in emissions associated with the supplied products, directly contributing to the construction sector’s decarbonisation objectives.
Since early 2025, this cement has been progressively introduced into the mix designs of all concrete plants, ensuring continuity in the reliability, performance and quality of the solutions produced. The resulting concretes fully comply with the requirements established in the Structural Code (CodE), confirming their technical suitability for building and civil engineering projects.
With this initiative, the company reinforces its commitment to the development of more sustainable construction solutions, aligned with its customers’ environmental strategies and the current demands of the sector.
Molins’ technical team remains available to clients and partners to answer any questions and provide specialised support in the implementation of these solutions in their projects.
