Concretes with Environmental Product Declarations: continuing our progress toward more sustainable construction

In line with our roadmap toward a lower-impact construction model, we have obtained Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for four of our ready-mix concretes. This recognition objectively certifies the environmental performance of these solutions and reinforces our commitment to transparency, traceability, and reliability.

EPDs analyze the impact of each product throughout its entire life cycle, from the origin of raw materials to the point of leaving the factory. In our case, they have been verified by an independent body and are registered with Environdec – The International EPD System, in accordance with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology and the requirements established by ISO 14025.

Having this verified information allows us to offer our clients clear and validated indicators of the environmental impact of our products—essential for decision-making in the design and execution of their projects. Moreover, these assessments facilitate the integration of our concretes into projects aiming for certifications such as LEED®, BREEAM®, or VERDE, which are increasingly valued in the sector.

Susterra: solutions driving a new construction model

The acquisition of these Environmental Product Declarations strengthens our strategy with Susterra, a range of solutions with sustainable attributes that drive decarbonization in the sector and promote the circular economy.

Susterra includes cements, concretes, pavements, and urban furniture designed to deliver maximum technical performance with minimal environmental impact. Its development is based on three strategic pillars: promoting the circular economy, reducing CO₂ emissions, and improving safety in work environments.

Among its main innovations and contributions are: concretes that reduce emissions by more than 25% compared to conventional ones; reused products made with 100% recycled materials and fuels; and cement-based solutions certified with the EMICODE label, which guarantees very low emissions of volatile organic compounds.
